I am not a writer. Perhaps explains why most of my blogs are just pictures. However, there has been a distinct lack of posts recently so I guess there needs to be some talk to catch up to where I am now.
To start with I am working so much that I barely have any time in my wonderful studio! I still have a craft fair booked in November though, just a small village Christmas fair but more than nothing.
On a more positive and exciting note I will soon be moving out of my parents house! I will be renting a house on the estate owned by the family I work for. A lovely little 2 and a half bedroomed cottage. I am very exited for this, as an almost-25-year-old should be, (I really didn't want to be the 30 year old who still lived with her parents) even if it is in the same village as them, its a start!
The house...
So, fairly obviously I think, I am mainly excited about decorating and furnishing this new house. So expect all future blogs to be about house-y things for a while! Trying to decide what colour to paint is very difficult when you don't even know what your going to have in a room! My evening reading has taken a turn from novels to books of a more inspirational style. I raided my parents crammed shelves and found a small selection of their collection (unintentional rhyming there!) on interior design.
My favourite has to be "a perfectly kept house is the sign of a misspent life" by Mary Randolph Carter. I shows that even a house crammed full of stuff, as I'm sure mine will be, can be beautiful. I could never have a minimalist house, I like all my "things" too much.
At the end of all this I hope to keep updating my blog on the progress of the house furnishing as it should be coming along much faster than the non-existent work in the studio. However once I'm in the house, the studio will be in there too so I can perhaps get along working much more!
That's the plan anyway!
